A general pattern for creating value: take a thing that robustly works today but is manual and specific, and systematize it to make it automatic and more general.
You make a lot of one-off additional investments that previously weren't viable (worth the bespoke effort) now viable, automatically, because they can use the now generalized foundation.
You also reduce the carrying cost of special cases, freeing up more resources to be spent on innovation.
I've called this Primitive Archeology in the past.
If you have an existing, successful system, this is a no-brainer strategy that will almost certainly unlock value.
