  • All users of a messaging app have to trust that it will behave correctly.
    • That is, that it will only send messages to the people you intended, not leak your messages, and not allow people to impersonate other senders.
    • Everyone has to trust the app won't mess it up naively or maliciously.
    • This is yet another factor on top of the inherent coordination problem, and one of the reasons that so few messaging apps exist.
