An emergent requirement of surviving in any organization: pretending your boss is right.

Your boss has an extraordinary amount of leverage and sway in whether you should continue working in that organization.

Which means that if you don't even pretend your boss is right, you're significantly more likely to be knocked out of the game.

This is one of the reasons that kayfabe tends to grow, unchecked, in organizations, until it is dangerous.
