Converging too quickly is dangerous in an ambiguous situation.
If you have to converge immediately, you pick whatever random idea you happen to believe in that moment and lock it in.
It gives you more stability, but in a way that makes you feel less stressed but actually puts yourself in a more brittle / dangerous position in an ambiguous or shifting environment.
There's value in the superposition, absorbing new information, experimenting with different directions, getting better calibrated bets before committing to one.
The superposition will be stressful; people who are detail oriented will push for premature convergence.
