  • Coordination happens no faster than the speed of communication.
    • The faster the communication in the medium, the larger the scale of coordination that is possible, and the quicker coordinated behaviors can appear and adapt.
    • In practice though you don't get more large-scale coordinated things at any given timestep, but more of an ever-adapting cacophony, where various mobs appear and then crash away before you even realize they're there.
    • A power law of size of coordinated things, where the top end gets bigger but the tail still remains.
