Digital services get to compel you to agree to their Terms of Service.

It's a binary choice: agree to their terms or don't get the service at all.

The ToS reserves a ton of their rights for what they can do with your data.

But you don't get to assert your rights over the data you bring to the service.

It's your data, but the ToS makes it effectively their data.

One small change that would have a massive impact: make it so that any ToS that reserves rights for the service over the user's data is also mutual and automatically reserved for the user, too.
