  • Emergent phenomena can't be understood by reductionism.
    • If you reduce the phenoma's comlexity past a critical threshold, the emergent phenomena evaporates.
    • If you only have reductionism, then you'll conclude "this emergent phenomena is not real".
    • For example, consider if the team fixes a number of P2s in a popular product and usage increases discontinuously.
      • On the team, the exec has a mental model that there must be a single driver of the increase.
      • If they can't find it, they might erroneously conclude that the increase is illusory.
