    • But most protocols fail by being either too simple to coordinate in an interesting way or so bloated that they never get off the ground.
    • There's an existence proof that it's possible to balance on that knife's edge, to find explosive growth with simplicity[abq], but that doesn't mean it's easy to do.
    • It's an emergent process with selection pressure, very hard to do by design.
