How should a platform creator know if they should sublimate out functionality done in the ecosystem or not?
The platform owner is the closest to a positive-sum perspective on the ecosystem, but also is conflicted because they have a horse in the race with their new functionality.
They should ask themselves through the veil of ignorance: "what would the ecosystem prefer? For this to be done by providers or to have an official version in the platform?"
The downside for the ecosystem to consider includes things like "pulling the rug out of a company that became successful on the platform" and the overall chilling effect on new entities taking a risk in the ecosystem.
There's a gradient from "no platform support" to "promoted partners" to "optional platform functionality" to "required platform functionality"
