I would prefer cozy tech over big tech.

The tech isn't the problem, the big is.

Big makes it so you can't escape the gravity well.

You have to hope the gravity well decides your need is important and aligned with its business interest.

If not... you don't really have many alternatives, because they've all been sucked into the gravity well, too.
