  • If you can't build a piece of IKEA furniture, the problem is likely you, not the furniture.[sp][sq]
    • When you're constructing a model kit, and something isn't working, how do you react?
      • Is the quality of the components poor and they don't fit like they should?
      • Is there a missing piece?
      • Are the instructions incorrect or missing steps?
      • Is it something you did wrong?
    • If you're building an IKEA item, you know the problem is you, not the quality or components or instructions.
    • That's comforting!
    • When the problem might be the components, you give up in frustration more often; there's nothing you can do to improve them.
    • But the problem is you, you can focus and try again[sr].
