In normal relationships, when you go above and beyond, the extra is banked as earned trust.
Which sets you up for better navigating ambiguity with them in the future, to earning a longer leash from them.
But an organization that demands your all, and then doesn't bank any trust is transactional, narcissistic.
The value flows one way, not the other way.
True, authentic relationships lead to mutual benefit, looking out for one another, not just transactional.
"Transactional" means "the interaction only looks at this interaction, not others in the past, or others in the future."
Transactional is greedy, it is short-sighted, finite.
