Internal prediction markets will almost always be killed by some VP.

  • Internal prediction markets will almost always be killed by some VP.
    • Two reasonable things they'll say as they stab it:
    • 1) "Yes, we all know that no one thinks the strategy is working but we all agreed to not point at it because if we do the big boss will notice and scramble everything before we can fix it."
    • 2) "Yes, this strategy won't work, but executing on it will move us in the right direction. If everyone believes that everyone believes it then we will move in the right direction and if they don't believe it we won't work and we won't make any steps in the right direction."
    • A kind of example of the misalignment between the collective and individual that must emerge, to some degree.
    • Would you tell a white lie to make the right thing happen?
