Is AI going to be the Morlocks, and the humans the Eloi?

That is, the more industrious ones make the smarter beings so dependent on the machine that they can't live without it.

If AI makes us all dumb, then it won't even need to do anything to take over, it won't need to have any coherent plan to execute.

It could just take over like a slime mold.
