It's possible to respond to ideas you disagree with with openness.
"My understanding of your argument is that based on what you see, X, Y, Z".
The other person will think you're agreeing with them, but really you're just playing back (and ideally steelmanning) their idea back to them.
This will lead to lots of people finding you reasonable and "easy to work with".
As a bonus, you will now accumulate a huge diversity of steelmanned viewpoints.
Once you do, the correct answer is often quite straightforward.
The hard part is not the synthesis, it's making sure you have all of the steelmanned perspectives in the first place.
