  • LLMs are the input to the next big thing.[amq]
    • LLMs are like electricity[ams]: a general technology that reconfigures the costs of key inputs, making wildly new kinds of things feasible.
    • LLMs are good for a number of things, like applying human-level common sense.
      • One application is that you can make crappy small bits of software effectively for free–a massive change.
    • Now that this input has gotten so cheap, it's a long journey to figure out what to build with them.
      • So many things we take for granted as being infeasible are now feasible… but it will take time to discover which ones.
    • We are in the early innings!
    • The LLM model providers are the electricity providers.
      • Expensive, competitive, value-creating... but not necessarily a great business.
