LLMs are the ultimate demoware

Demoware is superficial, shallow.

Seems great, until you go to use it.

This is why when a product looks 80% of the way done it's actually 20% of the way done.

LLMs make it possible to get to that 80% of the time in an instant.

But the last "20%" takes just as long as before.
