That is, if one entity bear hugs it.

This is only existentially dangerous if one entity bearhugs it and controls a majority of the investment in the ecosystem.

If multiple entities, even powerful ones, all bear hug it they get stuck in a tug of war that keeps the ecosystem at least not captured.
