    • This is one of the insights at the core of Getting Things Done.
    • When you have an open loop, part of your mental energy is spent keeping track of that item.
      • Similar to busywaiting.
    • A system that makes all of the loops closed frees up mental energy.
    • You know that if you put something into that system, it will definitely pop up in the future when you need it.
    • That allows you to stop worrying.
