Our Umwelt is tied to how we perceive the environment.

A computer with a single light sensor is dumb and blind, obviously.

You realize that when you try to program it to do useful things in its environment.

And yet we're more like that then we realize.

Our Umwelt is rich, but still missing signals, like magnetism, a rich sense of smell, etc... and other signals we can't even imagine.
