  • Our visual sense is different from our other senses.
    • Our other senses are single dimension, so you can only sense variation over time.
      • That means you can't scrub through the signal at your own speed of comprehension, you have to wait as it plays out at its own rate.
    • But vision is multi-dimensional, so you can move your eyes to absorb whatever information you need at whatever rate you need.
      • That, plus peripheral vision, which gives you "information scent" to know where to focus next.
