  • Rigor does not mean more detail.
    • Rigor means that the closer someone looks at the answer, the more compelling it becomes.
    • Sometimes very simple conclusions can be enormously clarifying: inescapable, obvious, once you see it you can't unsee it.
    • In some cases, the simple words of "not yet" are extremely clarifying.
      • That you don't need to know the answer to some fuzzy, hard to distill thing saves you tons of time.
    • You know you're getting closer to rigor and clarity as things get simpler, not more complex.
