The "Look what you made me do" abuser dynamic.
The more powerful entity has some kind of power that is uncouth to use or that they don't want to want.
But then the less powerful entity does something, and that makes the more powerful entity say "This brings me no joy and I don't want to do this, but you've forced me to [do this thing I wanted to do but I know I'm not supposed to want to want that exerts power over you]".
Power might be for example lashing out or tearing something down.
It's disingenuous because they wanted to do it anyway, and no matter what the victim did, they were going to do it, even with a flimsy excuse.
They blame the victim for their own infraction.
It feels good to them to transfer the blame. "Yes, I did a bad thing, but only because (the victim) forced my hand"
This dynamic is becoming much more common in our political reality.
