The tech industry has a default ethos of "go fast and assume we're correct and everyone else is dummies".
That leads to a lot of moves that look clever but are actually just reckless, e.g. using leverage.
Of course, sometimes it really is right, and that's where some of the disruptive changes come from.
Everyone who discovers leverage thinks they're a genius, and go right on thinking they're a genius until it kills them.
