When innovating, it's more important to prove to yourself that there is a plausible path forward, not that this is the path.
The former is what determines if this step, if viable, will not put you into a dead end.
You don't need to find the right path out; you just need to prove to yourself there at least is one.
But by explaining that one to others, they will cling to it too tightly as the path.
Now, if you need to adapt or change, you have to convince everyone else why you aren't doing the previous plan.
