  • When there's a low differentiation there's not a ton of gradient to overcome static friction.
    • That makes it very hard to activate an inflow of new users.
    • If you have a better product in that situation, that inflow will have a weak compounding from word of mouth, but always strongly dampened.
    • If you have a strong differential gradient of value, it explodes automatically faster than you could have hoped to push it.
      • This can happen if you create a new category with newly available materials.
