Ars Technica: Flight attendants freaked out that Google is buying tons of Spirit employee data

· Bits and Bobs 8/24/26
    • This purchase is so obviously icky.
    • The optics are terrible.
    • But, if you believe Altman's Wager, then you've got to feed as much data as you can into the RSI machine, perceptions or indirect effects be damned.
    • One downside for the insatiable data machine; this data comes only from a host that is already dead and can't produce more data.
    • I wonder when we'll see a data harvesting company buy another business so they can continue to operate it but leech out more data as it lives.
    • Like the blood bags in Mad Max: Fury Road.
    • A living donor, with its lifeforce being continually drained off to feed an insatiable host.
