If you feel like you haven't had the success you deserve (e.g.

  • If you feel like you haven't had the success you deserve (e.g. relative to your peers) you get a chip on your shoulder, and you're less open to learning or growing.
    • You defensively crouch on things that aren't working for you, and that you don't even realize aren't working.
    • "I'm doing the same thing as them but what I'm doing isn't working for me, and it's working for them. That just shows how unfair it all is!"
      • Perhaps you're only doing something that is superficially the same but is missing some fundamental component?
    • When you feel like you've been successful you'll be able to grow and look at yourself critically, to be more playful, open to change.
    • Remember "thinking you're successful" is not some external objective fact, it's a mindset.
