If you're going to clone something that works, you have to clone all of it.

Don't even think about what to include or exclude, you'll likely get it wrong.

You don't know which parts are load bearing so you just have to assume everything is.^[dl]

Many years ago I heard a legend about Baidu when it first rolled out.

It didn't just look like Google.com's home page, it literally had the same HTML comments in the code.

Comments, of course, don't actually change the behavior… but when they cloned it, they didn't want to break anything that might have mattered.
