If you think you are extremely rational and not prone to emotional manipulation then you are extremely emotionally manipulatable.

We can't see things in our blindspots.

If there's a core part of us that's in our blindspots, when we are manipulated there we won't see it.

If there are important and high leverage parts of the system, even if they are parts you'd rather not admit are important—especially if they are parts you'd rather not admit are important—you'd better admit they're important and plan around it.

Ignore a force of gravity at your own peril… especially if it's one that others can steer to their own ends.
