Inside of an organization, the game, the kayfabe, will draw all of your attention.

It will make you feel like it's what matters, when in reality it's the emergent game that sucks up all the extra energy.

If you see that the kayfabe is an illusion, a distraction, a thing to hold at arm's length and only do the bare minimum then it's fine.

But sometimes people get confused and see it as an end in and of itself.

If you're good at playing the game, the org will reward you for it, and it will become part of your ego.

"I'm good at this, and this is important," will be what the org will whisper in your ear.

And when you believe those whispers, you are lost.
