LLMs sweet spot: a task that any reasonably competent and worldly person could do without a lot of mental effort, just a lot of time.

For humans it would require a lot of System 2 effort to do the research to find the facts.

Which would take tons of time and analysis, even if each bit of research was superficial and straightforward.

There's few things that clear that bar to be worth it.

But LLMs are a society-scale System 1.

They can do associative reasoning with no effort at all.

Suddenly all kinds of analysis that were impossible before become easy.
