Meaningful state tends to accumulate around schelling points in an ecosystem.

· Bits and Bobs 3/9/26
  • Meaningful state tends to accumulate around schelling points in an ecosystem.
    • In the same origin paradigm, if that schelling point is one origin's turf, they then accumulate the power.
    • They can hold that data hostage.
    • That means that everyone naturally gets suspicious of that schelling point and the required trust in the owner's long-term incentives.
      • That hesitance reduces the pull of the schelling point.
    • But if the data weren't locked to an origin, it wouldn't matter, and schelling points could emerge more naturally and fluidly.
