"Perception is reality" is a post-truth mindset, those who hold it are fundamentally lost.

The mindset implies that ground truth doesn't exist or matter.

Perception obviously matters–people make decisions based not on the world as it exists, but their model of the world (their perceptions) which might be wrong.

But following that to the limit of "therefore ground truth doesn't matter" is lunacy.
