Riffing a bit more on the idea of retconning a platform to understand its throughline.
What are the things that were originally surprising but that stuck?
Then tell a plausible story where they weren't just random.
You're mining the collective insight of all of the humans who touched the system.
Every touch--every extension of functionality, every usage–has the bias of human intention in it.
So if you compress and distill it all down, all of the noise fades away and the bias of shared intention remains.
That throughline tells you what the platform does, why it exists, and what direction to lean into to make it a fuller manifestation of its destiny.
