So much of what has been built in the last 30 years is part of the same-origin edifice.
Every individual block that is added to the edifice is useful, but extends the same underlying logic.
If you're trying to build something that has different laws of physics at its core, it can't be part of the edifice.
In that case you can reuse some old blocks from the previous edifice that happen to be useful in a new combination, but you can't simply extend the edifice.
You have to build a new, small, edifice out of existing components, and hope that it is viable.
