  • The emergent "game" in organizations is inescapable.
    • As the organization scales, it must emerge.
    • Things you do to squash it (e.g. make the information flows more legible to leadership) just change the meta-game and cause the dysfunction to squish out elsewhere.
    • In some cases, that's worse: the kayfabe is that the game is gone, but in reality it's now just even harder to reason about.
