The "harness" layer is the wrong layer to emphasize.

A harness is only valuable as a complement to a good model.

Instead, call it the "AI software" layer.

AI software might use AI to power itself, but it also might work just fine without AI once it hits critical mass.

For example, if the actions of savvy users crawling through broken glass and asking their agents to create mechanistic software for them helps later users achieve the same goals with fewer tokens.
