    • Positive: the user gets more value the more they use the product and so they don't want to leave it.
    • Negative: the user gets more and more stuck and can't leave the product.
    • Sometimes the two sides are related; as in a user storing more data in a system and building their workflows around it.
    • The more they store data, the more useful the tool gets for them… and also the more that it would be a pain to migrate everything out.
