Will using agents in today's software paradigm end up more like cars or motorcycles?
Cars are absurdly dangerous, but the value is orders of magnitude greater, so they are above the "duh" risk line for just about everyone.
Motorcycles are perhaps a bit more convenient than cars, but they are orders of magnitude more dangerous.
That puts the equilibrium above the "duh" risk line for only a niche of people who are good drivers and/or have a high risk tolerance.
The vast majority of the population wouldn't think twice about riding a car, but would never ride a motorcycle.
The current state of agentic security is motorcycle shaped.
