Apparently a famous musician had an interesting tactic for developing new ideas.

· Bits and Bobs 10/7/24

He'd pay a bunch of different amazing musicians to come to the studio.

He'd put them in individual rooms and tell them to just explore and create.

He'd walk between the rooms, listening to find ideas he liked, perhaps giving small nudges to them about things to lean into.

Then later he'd curate his favorite bits into his own novel synthesis.

He got a super-linear quality increase.

Instead of being limited by his own time and effort, he could parallelize it, and then use his taste to select from a larger number of streams.

It was expensive to do, and was only possible because he was so rich.

But now anyone savvy enough can do it with LLMs!
