If you want to start writing, just write!

Publish it somewhere quiet and unassuming and don't make it look too polished.

Assuming it's not controversial, if you point people at it and they don't like it, then they won't share it.

The number of people who read it will be tiny--capped downside.

But if they do like it, then they'll share it, and more people will read it, in proportion to how good it is.

Uncapped upside.

All that it costs is the opportunity cost to write it.

And if you like the act of writing, if it gives you energy, then there's no cost at all!
