  • The goal of a platform is to reduce how much effort developers have to invest to accomplish things they care about.
    • It's mainly about reducing effort for things that developers are already doing.
      • If they're doing it even though it's hard, they definitely want to do it.
      • If they're not doing it, then it might be because it's too hard… or because they don't care about it much.
    • Real platforms do this by watching what developers crawl through broken glass to do and then making it so the next person with that use case doesn't have to crawl through so much broken glass.
