There's a difference between an organization selling Coachella tickets vs Burning Man tickets.
In Coachella, the entity producing the event is producing the vast majority of the things that you're paying to see.
The event could be great if they do a great job, or bad if they do a bad job.
Even if the other participants are passively consuming and not adding much, it could still be great.
In Burning Man, the entity producing it is providing the infrastructure for great things to emerge.
E.g. securing land permits, securing baseline infrastructure, coordinating dates for the event, etc.
But all of the greatness at the event comes from what the participants create, emergently.
The former creates an experience that could be largely passive; the latter creates an experience that must be largely active.
