Which will win, the vertically integrated tool or the tool that can use any model?
Do the models have more power, or the UI that builds on the models?
It comes down to "do users of an API have a BATNA or not", which is the case, even though the SOTA models keep on making leaps and bounds performance gains... they all keep making roughly those gains, which is important.
I think we're going to see something like a hosted, slightly glammed-up version of Librechat that consumers have a subscription to that then allows them to use any of the main model providers with their context and not get stuck with any of them.
But it's unclear which of those offerings will be the schelling point that starts getting compounding momentum.
Probably some existing company with a brand that is well respected (i.e. not one of the major engagement-maxing players).
