    • If the general purpose model gets better enough, it could lap the capabilities of the vertical model.
    • Then the creator of the vertical model would find themselves on a tech island facing a dilemma.
      • 1) Ditch their expensive proprietary investment and compete on the same turf as everyone else (but coming from behind since they're coming from a different stack)
      • 2) Double down on their proprietary edge, hoping to somehow surpass the big kids, but likely falling farther and farther behind.
