Things pop from default decohering to default cohering when they become a thing people believe is viable and valuable.

Viable = Actually works

Valuable = Actually worth doing

The viable and valuable center becomes a thing that people nearby want to extend and improve.

Before you have that core, every given bit of effort or change is equal.

Who's to say which is better?

So the incremental actions pull it the whole in random directions, decohering.

But when you have a core that collaborators believe is viable and valuable, there's a default thing to work on.

You could choose to improve the thing that is working, or a different way (which might turn out to not work).

The thing that is an incremental improvement to the way that is working is, all else equal, obviously better.

This asymmetry is what creates a default cohering thing.

For this to happen, a critical mass of collaborators have to believe that it is viable and valuable.

You can believe it because it's self-evident, you can see it with your own eyes.

Or you can believe it because you believe the vision or feel morally connected to the collective whose goal it is.
